News - 28th December 2017.
Following on from the articles we ran in February and March, the Borough Council are now asking you to share with them your comments on their latest draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan (RoWIP) 2018 - 2023 by completing a short questionnaire. This is a statutory plan which outlines the actions they will have to take over the next 5 years to improve the Borough’s Public Rights of Way network.
They are responsible for nearly 1,000km of Public Footpaths, Bridleways and Byways Open to all Traffic across the Borough countryside. They would like to know your views on how they can plan to improve these routes as well as encouraging more people to enjoy and use them.
The Borough Council faces some difficult times ahead with massive Government reductions in the overall Council budget (in the region of £27million). They will have to take some difficult decisions in the years ahead and as a result will need to prioritise the work that they carry out on the network. This questionnaire will help them to identify the priorities for the users of the Rights of Way network and give us an insight into what people need both now and in the future.
